Crystal Rose

CarmenMet up with an old friend last month. I wanted to write about it that same day for the benefit of our mutual friends, but here I am, blogging a month later. Now I understand how Stephen feels when he said he got tired of blogging.

Carmen was a college buddy from UP Manila, however short-lived that part of my
life was. We were (still are) part of Block 5, which may loosely be translated as a class section for freshmen (how I got into the Behavioral Studies section is another story altogether).

She visited the states for a job training on the east coast, but visited her family here in Los Angeles and Las Vegas before making her way home. It was before her Vegas trip when I picked her up for a quickie. :) Ha!

However short the time, I was able to show her Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Kodak Theater, Rodeo Drive, and a small part of Melrose Blvd. If not for the new reservation policy for Griffith Observatory, we would have gone next to the Hollywood Sign for some photo op.

The day ended with me dropping her off to her aunt’s a little late for their Vegas trip. A little picture taking ensued, and several veiled questions from the aunts about me and my wife reassured them that Carmen and I were friends.

To Carmen, thanks for the visit. Now what’s with that post title?
